Day 02 / Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of New Delhi where ornate buildings recall the days when India was the Jewel in the crown of the British empire. Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar , India Gate and the grand government buildings, the President’s House , Mahatama Gandhi Memorial . Also visit Laxmi Narayan temple popularly known as Birla Temple. Night stay in Delhi.
Day 03 / Delhi - Jaipur (By air-conditioned train Dep 0610 Hrs Arr 1040 Hrs )
Early morning pick up from hotel & transfer to railway station to board the superfast airconditioned train to Jaipur. Breakfast in the train. Arrive Jaipur and transfer to hotel. Later sight seeing tour of Jaipur covering:
CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum.
JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.
HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace of Winds" is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Their five-storey structures of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women.
LAXMI NARAYAN TEMPLE - Situated in the south of Jaipur, Laxmi Narayan Temple is one of the many such temples built by wealthy Birla family in India, thus it is also known as Birla Mandir. The temple is a great reminder of the secular traditions India has shown over the centuries. The temple has been constructed in white marble and has three domes, each portraying the different approaches to religion. The temple is situated at the foot of Moti Doongri Fort, converted as a small palace by Ram Singh II for his wife Gayatri Devi. Night stay in Jaipur.
Day 04 / Jaipur
After a relaxed breakfast proceed for a morning excursion to Amber Fort. Elephant ride ascent to the fort.
AMBER FORT PALACE - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. Its forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it's ultimate expression. Continue sight-seeing.
JAIGARH FORT - The Western skyline is dominated by the extensive parkotas (Walls), watch-towers and gateways of Jaigarh. It is one of the few military structures of medieval India preserved almost intact containing palaces, gardens, open and covered reservoirs, a grannary, an armoury, a well planned cannon foundry, several temples, a tall tower and a giant mounted cannon the Jai Ban the largest in the Country.
ALBERT HALL MUSEUM - It is one of the ancient most and also popular museums of the city. Albert Hall Museum has its location in Ramnivas Gardens, a famous tourist spot of Jaipur . There are several reasons for which this Albert Hall Museum could be applauded. It is a treasure house of unusual and striking items. Design of the building itself is exquisite. The colossal structure, the exquisite architectural splendor still breathes the sighs of history. Being built following the Indo-Sarcenic style of architecture, it is full of numerous towers, courtyards and archways. Thus this Albert Hall Museum stands as a paradigm of rich heritage of culture of the country.
The Albert Hall Museum, Jaipur is embellished with its numerous miniature paintings. These wonderful paintings have the belonging to various schools of paintings like Udaipur, Jaipur, Bundi, Kishangarh and Kota. Majestic portraits of royal Jaipur kings also find place in this museum. They are placed on the 1st floor of Central (Albert Hall) Museum. This adds fervor to this museum`s magnanimity. Amongst other precious artworks including its huge jewelry collection, metal artworks, carving deserve mentioning. Also several brass articles are found which are the proofs of expertise of craftsmen. Night stay in Jaipur.
Day 05 / Ranthambhore
Early morning 3 hrs Jungle safari in a Canter (a vehicle which is open on the top) enjoy the game viewing in the national park and back to the hotel. After lunch second visit to jungle and enjoy the game viewing again. Night stay in Ranthambhore.
Day 06 / Ranthambhore - Agra ( By road ) Approx. 5hrs. and half drive enroute visting Fatehpur sikri
Early morning 3 hrs Jungle safari in a Canter (a vehicle which is open on the top) enjoy the game viewing in the national park and back to the hotel, later drive to Agra via Fatehpur sikri , a perfectly preserved red sandstone “ghost town” which was the estranged capital of mughal emperor Akbar, built in 1569 and deserted when its water supply failed. Arrive Agra and transfer to hotel. Night stay in Agra.
Day 07 / Agra
Morning at sunrise visit the magnificient Taj Mahal at sunrise- one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife. Later after breakfast visiting the Agra Fort- a hilltop citadel with fabulous courtyards, fountains and gates. Night stay in Agra.
Day 08 / Agra - Gwalior (by fast air-conditioned train)
Morning transfer to railway station to board the train to Gwalior, arrive Gwalior, meet at the railway station & transfer to hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing tour of Gwalior known for its spectacular hilltop citadel. Within walls lie Jain statues, Rajput Palaces, Hindu temples and a Victorian school. Night stay in Gwalior.
Day 09 / Gwalior- Orchha (by surface) Approx. 02 hrs. drive
After breakfast drive to Orchha , a historical site with magnificient temples and monuments. On arrival at Orchha transfer to hotel. Later proceed for sightseeing of Orchha - Visit magnificient temples and monuments , some of the palaces were decorated with painted murals which represent the finest flowering of the Bundela school of painting. Night stay in Orchha.
Day 10 / Orchha - Khajuraho (by surface) Approx. 03 hrs. drive
After breakfast drive to Khajuraho Khajuraho- the legendary temples of khajuraho are an incomparable experience. Khajuraho has achieved fame for the sensual appeal of its erotic sculptures. Arrive Khajuraho and transfer to hotel. Later.proceed for sightseeing tour of khajuraho- famous for the legendary temples of khajuraho built in the 9th and the 10th century. Day 11 / Khajuraho - Varanasi (by flight)
After a relaxed breakfast transfer to airport to connect flight to Varanasi - said to be the India’s most sacred city situated on the western bank of the holy river Ganga. It is also the oldest living city in the world. As a place for devotion and worship, with hundreds of temples dotting the city , sunrise on the river front as seen from a boat can be a spiritually uplifting sight. It has a fascination uniquely its own, a quality of sublime beauty, a timeless eternal appeal. Varanasi is the city which cannot be described, only experienced. Arrive Varanasi and transfer to hotel. Later half day sightseeing tour of varanasi visiting the temples and in the evening view “Aarti” ceremony on the Ghats. Night stay in Varanasi.
Day 12 / Varanasi - Kathmandu ( By flight )
Morning boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats. Later transfer to the Airport to connect flight for Kathmandu- the capital town of Nepal, the house of the highest mountains, kathmandu is as much steeped in beauty as in the history of this wonderland. The place has ever since been the center for art, crafts, culture and a rich heritage. Arrive Kathmandu, meet & assist at the airport & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Kathmandu.
Day 13 / Kathmandu
After breakfast Sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu City :
The Hanumandhoka - Kathmandu's Durbar Square is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar Square with its old temples and palaces epitomises the religious and cultural life of the people. It is here that kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Also visit the Taleju Temple built by King Mahendra Malla in 1549 AD, the temple of Kal Bhairav - the God of destruction and the temple of Kumari (Vestal Virgin) or the Living Goddess - represents a very ancient Hindu deity of Nepal locally known as Taleju is Buddhist by birth. The Kumari acknowledges greetings from her balcony window. Once a year during Indra Jatra festival, the King of Nepal seeks the Kumari's blessing. Kasthamandap - Located near the Kumari Temple is said to be built from the wood of a single tree from the city. The city of Kathmandu derives its name from this temple. The Kathmandu Durbar Square was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.
BOUDDHANATH STUPA: The stupa of Bouddhanath lies 8 kms east of Kathmandu. This ancient colossal Stupa is one of the biggest in the world, and is the centre of Tibetan Buddism in Nepal. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.
PASUPATINATH TEMPLE: This important Hindu temple is the temple of Lord Shiva, The temple with a two tiered golden roof and silver door is considered one of the holiest shrines for Hindus. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple, visitors can witness the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. The temple was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979 .Night stay in Kathmandu.
Day 14 / Kathmandu-Chitwan National Park ( By Road or Flight)
After breakfast drive to Chitwan National Park by Car or Fly to Bharatpur. It will be better to fly during the Monsoon season that is May - August as the Highway will be in the poor condition. Arrive Bharatpur & drive to Chitwan and transfer to Hotel.. Night stay in Chitwan.
Day 15 / Chitwan National Park
After Breakfast visit the most ancient royal reserve of Nepal, having thousands of rhinoceros, 300 bird species, tigers and leopards. Enjoy the programmes at jungle lodge. Encounter wildlife on elephant back, Jungle walk, Bird Watching tour, Village visit and many more. Night stay in the Chitwan.
Day 16 / Chitwan – Kathmandu (by road or Flight)
After breakfast Drive back to kathmandu or transfer to Bhatatpur to board the flight to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel . Afternoon visit SWAYAMBHUNATH STUPA- the oldest Buddhist shrine. It is said to be 2,000 years old. Painted on the four sides of the spire's base are the all - seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is 3 km west of Kathmandu City and is situated on a hillock about 77 m above the level of Kathmandu Valley and commands an excellent view of the Valley. This Stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal. It was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.
Evening transfer to Nepalese Restaurant Bhanchaghar for a Traditional Nepali Welcome reception and dinner. Here you will have the opportunity to enjoy a live Nepalese Cultural programme performed by beautiful young girls dressed in ethnic traditional Nepalese costumes and jewelry representing various parts of Nepal. Dinner will follow this programme. Night stay in Kathmandu.
Day 17 / Kathmandu - Delhi ( By flight )
Morning transfer to airport to board the flight for Delhi . Arrive Delhi & transfer to hotel. Evening explore the local markets etc. for last minute shopping activities. Night stay in Delhi.
