Taj Mahal Information
Taj Mahal, the summit of Mughal architecture, was constructed
by Shah Jahan in the reminiscence of his beautiful wife,
Mumtaz Mahal. Standing elegantly near River Yamuna, Taj Mahal
is the epitome love & romance. The exquisiteness of this
impressive white Marble mausoleum can’t be described
in words. The purity of this white marble structure, the
beautiful embellishment, the arresting architecture, makes
Taj Mahal, the crowning glory of India. It is the endless
love and purity of feelings behind this marvelous monument
that has got it a worldwide recognition and fame.
Taj Mahal was built on the acquired land of Raja Jai Singh
and taken 22 years for the compellation of the whole monument.
Twenty thousand laborers worked for 20 years from day to
night. It is said that the hands of the masons, who shaped
the main architecture, were cut off by the order of the Emperor
so that no one else could ever build the similar palace again.
The materials from which the mausoleum was constructed were
brought from distant parts of the world and Iranian national
Ustad Isa was the principle architect of the mausoleum.
In 1983, Taj Mahal was included in UNESCO’S World
Heritage Site. The main structure is made up of White marble,
brought from Rajasthan while the other side of the building
is built of red sandstone. The ever green beauty of this
monument of love doubles itself up on full moon night as
the white glory of Taj becomes splendidly charming and shines
magnificently bright under the full moon amidst the dark
surroundings. One can even view the fluctuating image of
this outstanding architecture reflected on the shimmering
water of the river Yamuna, flowing nearby the palace.
